Inernet Safety
I have had the chance to hear a presentation on internet safety a couple of times now. I want to impress on you how important it is to teach children about internet safety. As parents and teachers of children it is our duty to teach them about all aspects of the internet. We teach children not to talk to strangers and then we let them go online and talk to strangers. What is wrong with this picture? The world has changed a lot since we were younger and it is not as safe or as easy as we remember it to be. The world will continue to change and we can't keep children from going on line. The only way that we can help protect children is by teaching them how to be safe online.
The other thing we need to teach children is how to be appropriate online. We need to help children understand that what we say and do online can hurt others even if we don't see the results.
